100 days after my Dad left us

This past Saturday was my father’s 100 days since he passed away. I took a trip home back to Seattle to see my mom and spend some time with my mom reflecting about my father. It is also my parent’s 44 wedding anniversary, but we did not do any celebration this year. Instead we did do a brief pre thanksgiving celebration of my father life with all of our friends from Auburn. It was a classic Chen’s family party with so much food and activities. It felt like my father was still around the corner. Everyone misses him.

As classic as any of our thanksgiving parties, I actually found my old original PlayStation and connected it up. It still plays. I did learn that Light guns do not work with modern day LCD displays. But boy I forgot how much fun Tekken was. And how hard it was too.

The day after, Mom and I went to Montgomery, AL to visit a family friend. It was really relaxing and to remind me how different life is in Alabama than Washington.

Finally, before I left Auburn, I did a final cleaning of dad’s pond and said good bye to his Koi fish. In this trip I cleaned the filter, replaced a UV filtration bulb and added more water to the pond. It will probably be until end of Jan 2020 before I will be able to go back to Auburn again. As I said before, when I work on his pond, it is like talking to my father.

I miss you Dad!!!
