Returning to Auburn

This past weekend, Auburn won their first SEC match against Texas A&M. I returned home to Auburn for the first time without my Dad. This is also the first time that my mother returned back to Auburn after they left at the end of May to Seattle for vacation. Returning home for the first time is surreal. It is almost like visiting a museum. We all know that my father was sick, with stage 4 cancer, but we always thought we had more time. He also thought that as well. You can see that as we return to the house and see my father’s desk with his cruise ship plans for Alaska, even post-it notes with notes on it with his handwriting. Everything around the house just reminds me of him.

You can even see in the game room where he left his pool cue, and imprints of him playing. I can almost picture him playing pool and making coffee.

I spend some time in the back yard, on Sunday. My mom was complaining about the pond being overrun. I was able to return it to a running state on Sunday, however, Today I broke it again after cleaning out the filters. There is a leak that I just can’t stop. Dad, please help.
