Revisiting Star Trek and Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville

Oh… around summer of 1991, I attended Space Academy (aka older kids Space Camp) in Huntsville, Alabama. Now almost 20 years (ok 18 years) later, I revisited the Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville to watch the new Star Trek movie. It brought back so many memories. What amazes me was that after 18 years not much have changed in the space center. Still the similar displays, still the same posters at the gift shops. What have changed was the amount of commercialism. There are also some plans for the future of space… that have changed greatly. It is truly amazing how majority of most of the space travel was done in the 60’s, 70’s, and early 80’s. Well… it is also amazing that so many years after the first Star Trek episode, the reboot movie is out. It was actually a pretty good reboot movie. I was very impressed. however, I don’t think I would go to an IMAX theater to watch this movie again. It was too stretched and also you can’t see anything when there’s motion. I guess I will just have to watch it when it comes out on netflix.
