So... I just got home from hanging out with my buddies and also watching Xmen 3. The movie was pretty cool... but I feel like I wanted more. But anyway... I was talking to my buddies and our conversation drifted to the questions they ask in a naturalization interview. So we asks each other to name 10 of the original 13 states. I was thinking about it and I said Georgia was one. All my friends say... no Georgia was not... So after coming home ... I was still sure that Georgia was a 13 colonies, I looked it up ... and I was correct. So all of my friends are natural born US citizens... so who is more American now? ha ha ha... just kidding guys....
So for all of you that are interested ... the original 13 colonies are as follows
I just noticed something.... I am probably the youngest engineer in the District (aka my company) but yet I am working on the oldest technology... analog 2 way radio. Does this make any sense? ha ha ha ...
A guy just came by my desk to measure the airflow noise coming out of the AC vent. and the survey says.... 70 dB !!!!!! ... Wow... to put things into perspective... constant 85 dB noise is very dangerous to your hearing. So to me 70 dB is pretty noisy. Yep that is why I have my Bose Quiet Comfort 2 with me at all time... It will reduce some of that unwanted noise.
I just got back from the Penn and Teller show. It was pretty good, even though I have seen some of the act from the old 1994's The Unpleasant world of Penn and Teller, but it is still good to see it live. One thing that I was kind of stupid about was I lift my camera at home. Penn and Teller actually let fans take pictures with them after the show. However, tonight is one of the only time that I did not have my camera with me. Actually the entire trip I did not take any pictures. Why... well... it just reminded me too much of my last time here in Las Vegas and I feel sad.
Anyway... I did get Penn's autograph :D. The act was pretty cool.... So tomorrow.. I am going back to Ephrata. I don't know if I will be going back to seattle this weekend or not. I been out so much... I think I am just going to chill at home this Memorial day weekend. I just don't know yet. Sigh ... I don't want to go home. I need to just find a road job I guess. ha ha ha ... just kidding...
Short rest at night in Seattle, now I am in the Airport again ready to fly to Vegas. This should be fun. Oh BTW did I tell you how much I love free wireless???
I am in Cincinnati right now. I am still sitting in the airport. I got just got free weekend wireless from t-mobile... since I am a t-mobile member.... how cool huh... yeah!!! good deal. Anyway... I am still waiting for my flight... I think it is being delayed. The interesting thing is I thought Cincinnati is Central time, but they are on Eastern time. I almost choke on my food when I realized that I only had 30 minutes before the plane departs. .... oh ... they are boarding now... so... see ya in Seattle.
Once again, I am sitting in the Airport typing away at my blog. Oh before I forget, Happy Mothers day!!! Anyway... this time I am in the Birmingham Airport. Originally, I was going to fly from here to Houston and from Houston to Seattle, but that flight to Houston got cancelled so I am flying to Cincinnati, OH instead and fly from there to Seattle. I get delayed about 1 hour. So that's ok. And tomorrow starts an interesting week. Tomorrow morning I head from Seattle to Las Vegas and I spend 3 days in Las Vegas for the International Wireless Communications Expo. Now that should be fun. One of these nights, I think I want to go see Penn and Teller. :D
Anyway... these couple of days in Auburn has been fun. Of course it always been fun. I got a chance to see alot of my friends. I got to see my buddy Trung and Julie and their 3 kids and one to come. They have such a blessed family. I also got to see my buddy Sergeon and Shi with their baby girl Misha. It was Misha's birthday on Saturday. Misha is one year old now... wow... I can't believe how fast time passes. I also saw my friend Eric Au and his wife and his kid. One special surprise was I got a chance to see Lan Shang Bing... he is on his Honeymoon and decided to take his wife to Auburn for a visit. Amazing I can't believe that he has been away for almost 6 years. This past weekend, I also got to check out the remodeled house. My father did a wonderful job remodelling the old house. It looked sooo good. If I were in Auburn, I would love to live there. It is only $145,000. Any offers??
Of course family... I got to spend a short amount of time with my family. My sister came home yesterday and we had a big party. Partys at my family's house is always the best!!! I do also miss my friends in the NW. sometimes I wish I can have all my friends here in Alabama for a big party :D
But it is time to go home... and tomorrow I am flying to Vegas and get ready to take notes and lots of work on the road. But it should still be fine.
Oh... and one more thing... I got an A for my Cryto class!!! oh my gosh!! an A... but that is another story for another day ;D
I will be leaving BHM soon and I will be back in SEA around 10:25pm.... maybe sooner if the pilot speeds... ha ha ha.. zoom zoom
Boy It felt good sleeping for close to 12 hours last night :D. As you know... I did not get much sleep the night before... so last night, I made up on my sleep. Sweet.
Yep... what was kind of cool was I was dreaming about my childhood home/apartment in Lafayette Louisianan. It was strange. I was hearing a recuring should and I was walking around the apartment looking for it. I looked all over. There was no one there. and I can't find where the sound was coming from. I remember alot of details.. including where we use to keep canned cokes. but anyway.... finally I realized that I was dreaming and that recurring show was me breathing.
Strange huh? But .. I have dreams like that all the time. Really detailed and I remember most of them.
Anyway... today is beautiful outside and did I tell everyone that I am done with finals???
Woo hoo... It is all done... I am done with finals and I am done with this semister of school. Don't ask me how I did... because I still have few day of enjoyment before I find out how badly I did on my exam. I really think I have a love hate relationship with my 533 cryptography class. In one hand, I enjoy it because it is challenging and I am learning new ideas and polishing up old concepts. I actually used some Calculus on my final!!! Wow Calculus!!!... I haven't used any calculus since college. Anyway, I enjoy the challenge and the concept, but the subject is really hard and the part I don't like is the lack of help from school. But that's ok... it is all over now... so move on to bigger and better things.
So what is next you say???
Well... I am going home for Mother's day. That is this week.
Next week, I am going to Las Vegas for the IWCE conference. I will be there until thursday. Then the week after I have monday off :D yeah.... and then MAY is over!!!
Focus.... the goal is to get my CCNP by the end of Summer!!!
I can not believe it is May 2006 already. It seems like yesterday it just turned 2006. It seems like yesterday I was planning my May trip down to Houston to see my little sister's graduation. It seems like yesterday I was with... {sigh} But now it is one year later. I am still here in Ephrata. Work is work. I been assigned to Hydro... which means, 2 days out of the week I will be traveling to the dams to do some radio work. It is may so that means my school is almost over. I have a goal... I do, really! My goal is to get my CCNP before the summer is over. I only have 3 exams left. I am thinking once I get it everything will be better. But that is what I said about my PE. I said that once I get my PE, I will be able to do everything.... but things just got worst after that. 4700 people.. that is how many people there are in Ephrata. Life along in a small town is pretty boring and lonely. We have a Walmart, a Safeway, a Subway, a Burger King, a McDonalds, and few other local resturants. That is where I live. The outside environment is beautiful, but outside beauty can only do so much for a person's mental state. I guess my only goal is to get my CCNP and see where we go from there. I use to have so many goals... now I only have one.
