well, it is 8:09 and only 6 groups came over for candy. I bought 5 bags of candy. ... humm... oh well.. it is kind of interesting... I am sitting at home by myself watching a scary movie and things are just well... ok ... sigh... sigh...
Happy Halloween Once again... Well.. I haven't had any one knocking on the door yet. I bought about 5 bags of candy.. all the really good kind. The way I choice which candy to buy is by asking.. what would I want to eat.. If I am a kid today. So I bought, Snickers and Kit Kats.. and so on...
Still no one here yet...
While walking home today.. all the sudden I thought about Charlie Brown Halloween... you know the snoopy cartoon...
Halloween is always one of those fun days as a kid... I have many wonderful memories about Halloween... some includes dressing up as a wizard with my childhood friend Brad. We were all lived in a student family housing in Lafayette, LA. Trick or treating around Cajun village and going to Showbiz Pizza (yeah... how many of you guys remember that place, for those that don't it is pretty much the same as Chucky Cheese Pizza). I also remember taking my little sister around the neighborhood in Auburn trick or treating. Or my 24th Halloween Birthday night out on the town in Birmingham. Halloween weekend, 2 years, ago was also very special as well. {sigh}...
So many good Halloween Memories... but the most important thing is that I have to remember to get some candy before I go home... It is so fun giving candy to all the little kids :)
Well... I am back from Seattle. What a wonderful weekend. Watched couple of movies and had some great food and spend some wonderful time with my friend. The more I go over the seattle the more I think about moving. Well... need to get charged up for another wonderful Monday!!!
This really sucks... last night they switched to standard time so I gain an hour. Well, supposely I gain an hour of sleep. well... as you can see I am up bright and early. DOH!
I had alot of fun in Seattle this weekend. It was a beautiful night in Seattle last night and I forgot my camera. I guess I don't need to have my camera everywhere I go.
For the first time in a while ...last night, I felt happy.
Pretty interesting... been working on the Packet Analyser program for school. It is alot of fun. Once again... it has been so long since I really sit down and program C. But with all the bit wise operations... it's pretty fun. Well... I got to study some more... I would really like to take my exam tomorrow... but I don't know if I will be able to. SIGH.. falling behind.
Just got done with my first Jury Duty. I did not get selected as a juror. We had 59 jurors show up and they only needed 12 + 1 alternate. I was juror 38. 38 38... ha ha ha. So my morning was there going through the jury selection. It was an interesting day... it is good to see our justice system in action. Now I've got to get back to work.
Jury Duty tomorrow. Well, tomorrow will be the first time that I will be serving my civic duty. I will be participating in jury duty tomorrow. I have never been, I don't know how long it will take and I don't know what it consist of ... but I am sure I will find out soon enough.
Yeah... I got my commenting system fix and added some new features.. Well, the problem was I installed a spam replient last night. How it works is the smtp server waits for 25 seconds before it will respond. Well, the PHP has a small timeout as well, so the PHP timed out before the script finishes. That is why I was getting the alerts but no comments were showing up.
Anyway.. some of the new features in the commenting system are
- line breaks allowed (fix) - Html allowed (new) - Cookies allowed (new... now longer do you have to type your name everytime... I remembers) - email alert (new... it will alert you if you put in your email of a response on the thread) - Also Authentication ... If spam starts to happen. right now it is turned off.
It is 6:54am ... I been in the office around 30 mins already. I am in early today because I have to oversee one of our technicians doing a change. It is one thing doing the change yourself. It is another have to make sure someone else do it correctly. That is the wonderful world of Unions. Anyway.. the union techs been giving me alot of crap lately. Things happen and they just complain about doing their job. Is this the beginning of not being happy with my job?
Enough about jobs.... This is exam week, I have to catch up on my studying. I though one class would be easy with working... but it is still a bit hard. It is the fact that after work you don't really feel like sitting in front of a computer taking notes for another hour and 15 minutes. It really gets old really fast.
I been having alot of flash backs lately. I guess stress does that to you. But the question is do I really have stress or is it all self imposed?
Wow... I was just taking my lecture and it just came to me... boy... I haven't used uuencode in a very longtime. Do people even remember using uuencode?
I went to my first IEEE area meeting today in Spokane. It was pretty cool. The weather in Spokane was beautiful... just beautiful.. so here are some pictures. Oh also I have some pictures of couple of MICROMOUSE!!! Cool stuff!!!
Test drive went pretty well on Saturday. I did not buy a car. Why? because the ads that I was super interested in are all sold by the time I got there. That's ok. There is always another car. so after test driving a 2005 Infiniti G35x, which is very very nice and a BMW 325i. I am thinking I would get a 330xi. So .. I will concentrating on a 330xi.
It was interesting... I haven't driven a manual transmission car in a while.... I forgot how fun it is to drive one.... :D
What a interesting night. Well... As usual it was Wednesday night and we went over to Jim' place for dinner. Usually it is just Beer and Pizza, well, since recently Jim shot a big elk.. We had elk burgers last night. UMM UMM good!
Yep... then we modded Russ's new truck. I did not know there is a huge market on modding diesel trucks. But I could not believe it... with no opening of the hood, we added over 100 hp to Russ's new truck and even improved fuel economy. Eddie says that his truck will go up to 25 miles a gallon on highway. I mean wow... for a huge full size Ford 250 4x4 diesel truck. WOW... it really got me thinking about that as well... but it is just still to big and too noisy. I want a BMW or a Lexus or a Infiniti....
Wednesday.... 10:01AM... Sitting in my cube... i am about the head out to the lab. Hey I walked to work today. You know... I should really put a execerise and walking and studying counter on my site. Maybe that will encourage me to do those things.
Wack wack wack... after about 45 minutes at the driving range.. I feel so much better. I still don't like woods very much. I don't hit it as well as the irons. Anyway... It was a beautiful day at the driving range. I had my ipod on and just listening to music and hitting some balls. Ah...
For those who don't understand chinese, I've also found a translation in english online... It is pretty good
The seas laugh, lashing on both shores Carried in the waves, we have only the here and now The heavens laugh at the troubled world Only they know, who is to win and lose The mountains laugh, the rain is afar When the waves grow old, the world still goes on The clear winds laugh, such a feeling of solitude Bygone camaraderie leaving behind a tinge of melancholy The earth laughs, solitude no more My sentiments laughing still
-- a laughter from the seas (song title) from the 1990 movie Swordsman (笑傲江湖)
It is Tuesday afternoon already, I am looking forward to the weekend. The weather is awesome outside and I am stuck inside. The health screening today went pretty well. I need to be cautious about my weight though. Well, I guess I have heard about it from my mom and my family already. Gee... I wonder when does this all happened... when did I became fat? well... I feel like I been repeating myself... I keep on repeating myself on my blog now huh? I guess there is just not much going on. Had a really go talk with my friend Dante today... it really got me thinking about everything that is going on with my life again. {sigh}
Do I want to be an engineer? If not an engineer then what? these are just some of the thoughts that bounces through my mind sometimes.
gosh... I guess I should concentrate what is a hand and move on .... forget about all the distractions. I mean should I even post my thoughts like this on my blog? I don't care ... I think it make me feel better just to write it down.
October 4th... I guess yesterday is my two years anniversary here in Grant County. Two years ago I traveled from Houston, Texas and landed in this small town called Ephrata. Two years later, what have changed? EVERYTHING... I feel like I have grown up alot more. My goals and dreams from two years ago are.... well... some are accomplished some are not.. and some are completely gone. The project that moved me here are not the same anymore. Everyday, I try to find my motivation.. and I get pockets of motivation.. and then it dies down... it is hard. I don't know why it is hard. Maybe I am hitting my two year limit at one place and it is time to move on? I think I am being a little pessimistic about everything. Actually, they are good things about my situation. I am finally back in school again. ... got to get back to work... I will write more later.
Sunday... nothing much going on today... Just washing some cloth and trying to do so catch up. Well... Auburn Won Yesterday!! WOOO HOO! 48-7 again South Carolina. I was in Auburn going to school when Auburn Last played USC. We won that game as well. So yesterday I finally watched the game in an Ephrata PUB. I think I was the only one there that really cared about the Auburn Game. There were total of 10 people in the pub. The place was really smokey I don't really like it. But I guess beggers can't be choosers huh? Next week Auburn plays Arkansas. I think I will be going to Seattle to watch that game. Anyway... War Eagle!!
I just finish watching Gundam Seed Destiny ep 50. This is the last episode of Destiny. It was pretty good. Alot better then everything that lead up to it. So this is another series that I followed for an entire year. Talking to my friend Sergeon, I realized something... I can mark major events in my life with the Anime series that I am following at the time. Let's take a look shall we. Two years ago, I followed Gundam Seed for one year, I was in a great relationship.... Gundam Seed was a good anime. After Gundam Seed, I followed Full Metal Alchemist and FMA was a GREAT anime and I got engaged during that time. This past year, I was watching Gundam Seed and well.. right around the time that Gundam Seed Destiny was going down hill... my engagement ended. So... Conclusion? Bad anime can cause you heck.... ha ha ha ha ha ...!!!!
I am just joking around :) ... Anime is pretty fun to watch... and Gundam is still a fun anime to follow. I wonder if there will be a 3rd Gundam Seed series... They did leave a few things open ended that can be followed up if they want. The biggest problem is what will the Gundam designs be like? They used up all the old UC designs already ... haven't they?
